Sumitomo’s Type-46 TomCat plus Fusion Splicer is the
industry’s 1st and only diameter alignment fusion splicer with built-in
dual heat shrink ovens featuring automatic splice and heater start
functions, making the TomCat plus the fastest diameter alignment splicer
available today. Like the proven Type-25e TomCat, the TomCat plus
utilizes passive diameter alignment splicing technology for repeatable
low loss results.
The unit enhances Sumitomo’s standard TomCat Fusion Splicer with enough
battery capacity to perform up to 240 splices and heater shrinks per
battery charge. The monitor has been increased in size to 5.6” inches
and can be easily adjusted 180 degrees for optimal viewing or effective
work flow operation. The TomCat plus features auto-start and auto-heater
functions, internal memory for up to 2000 splicing points, and
adjustable battery-saving settings.
The TomCat plus is compatible with the latest fiber termination
breakthrough — the Lynx2 CustomFit® Splice-on Connector. The Lynx2
Splice-on Connector is the most efficient and economic choice for custom
terminations.
The TomCat plus continues Sumitomo’s mission of customer focused
engineering by offering the advanced features of legacy splicers with
the economic benefits of precision fixed v-groove technology and a
user-friendly fiber holder system.
