While PT-510 and PT-525 are modified & improved versions of existing SOG tool platforms, the PT-540 is all new and completely custom for the wire & cable professional. Larger than PT-525 and comparable in size and weight to Lineman’s Pliers, PT-540 uses its size to maximum advantage – more features, more power and more value. PT-540 features Compound LeverageTM for power, smooth one-hand opening, PowerLockTM to lock folding tools in place and handle covers for comfort.

PT-540 features a dual-function Wire Cutter & Stripper in the plier jaws – controlled by the new StopLock lever. With StopLock disengaged, the pliers cut and grip normally – except that the 12, 14, 16 AWG strippers become part of the wire cutter, making the cutter large enough to cut even 10 AWG Electrical Wire. Engage the StopLock lever and the plier jaws become a precision stripper for 12, 14, and 16 AWG wire.
